INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS

Paper contents

All papers must be original work. All papers will be peer reviewed by 2 reviewers from the Scientific Program Committee. Based on the reviews, the organizers reserve the right to accept or reject each submitted papers.

Paper format

  • Papers for the conference must be submitted in camera-ready form as a file in Microsoft Word .doc format. Maximal size of the file is 5 MB.

  • Detailed information for authors is in Paper_template.dot file that can be downloaded from the conference web page. This document contains all necessary styles for paper formatting and may be used as a paper template.

  • Length of the paper should not exceed 4 pages, invited plenary papers may be up to 16 pages long.

Paper submission

  • To be able to submit a paper you have to sign in to the conference database first. Use the Registration item in the left hand menu. Your personal information and email address will be uploaded, your personal account will be created and you will receive personal login and password to your email address.

  • Paper should be submitted by uploading the .doc file containing the paper in a camera-ready form. Use the Upload of papers item in the left hand menu to upload the paper. Use the login and password obtained after you signed in to the conference database and follow the instructions.

  • Each registered author may submit one or two papers.

  • When you upload the paper you can select preferred topic and type of presentation for your paper. You can also enter your paper for Young Investigator Award competition.

  • Deadline for paper submission was extended until March 1, 2009 and submission is now closed.

  • Upload of delayed papers agreed with the program committee and upload of papers with corrections required by the reviewers is still possible.

  • Each paper will be evaluated by two reviewers, authors will be informed about acceptation, necessary corrections or rejection of their papers by March 15, 2009.

  • If corrections in the paper will be suggested, corrected version of the paper should be uploaded by April 19, 2009.

  • Only papers of participants who registered and paid the registration fee before May 1, 2009 will be included in the conference proceedings. Use the Payment item in the left hand menu to pay the fees.

  • Conference proceedings will be distributed to conference participants at the time of the conference.

Participation in Young Investigator Award competition

Authors not older than 35 years in 2009 can participate in the Young Investigator Award competition. Authors of best oral and poster presentation will be invited to submit an in extenso paper to the Measurement Science Review on-line journal. Winners of the competition will be awarded by a prize offered by conference organizers and the Czechoslovak section of IEEE as one of the conference sponsors. 

 

Preparation of oral presentations

  • All oral presentation should be in English, there will be no translation.

  • For each oral contribution 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion will be allowed. Chairmen will be asked to strictly follow the time schedule.

  • Oral contributions should be prepared as Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.

  • Presenting author should bring the presentation on CD or USB flash drive at least 30 minutes before the session start to the technical staff in the Conference secretariat room.

  • Use of own computer for presentation will be allowed only if unavoidable and should be negotiated and tested in advance.

Preparation of posters

  • The poster can be 80 cm wide and 120 cm high as a maximum. Posters on single sheet of paper are preferred. Pins for fastening the posters will be provided.

  • For each poster exact position will be allocated according the number of the poster in the conference program.

  • All posters should be in English.

  • Time for discussion with authors at the posters will be allocated within the conference program.
