TRANSPORT TO / FROM SMOLENICE

How to reach Bratislava

 

By plane

- to Airport Bratislava

 then use taxi or city bus No. 61 to get to the Central railway station (25 minutes). Ticket (0.90€) has to be bought in advance in kiosk or ticket vendor and marked immediately after entering the bus.
- to Airport Vienna, Schwechat, Austria

then use direct buses to bus station Bratislava AS (Slovak Lines http://www.slovaklines.sk/main-page.html or Student Agency https://www.studentagency.eu/en/). Buses of one of the companies depart every 30 minutes from bus stop No.4 at the Vienna airport exit and arrive at Bratislava Bus station (Bratislava AS). The journey takes about 1 hour, tickets can be bought from the driver (5.00€).

By train

Travel to the Central railway station (Bratislava - hlavná stanica).

By bus

 Travel to the Central bus station (Autobusová stanica Bratislava, Bratislava AS).

 

Conference buses from Bratislava to Smolenice and back

Conference buses are free of charge for those who make reservation in the registration form. They will be organized:

  • from Bratislava to Smolenice on May 26, 2019
      - at 15:00 from the Central railway station in Bratislava (Bratislava - hlavná stanica)
      - at 15:30 from the Central bus station in Bratislava (Autobusová stanica Bratislava)

  • from Smolenice to Bratislava on May 29, 2019
      - departure at 16:00 from the Smolenice castle.
      - expected arrival at the Bratislava Central railway station at 17:30
      - expected arrival at the Bratislava Central bus station at 18:00

Public transport from Bratislava to Smolenice

If you do not use the conference buses Smolenice can be best reached from Bratislava by bus or by taxi (60 km). The buses from Bratislava central bus station (Autobusová stanica Bratislava) to Smolenice can be found here: https://cp.hnonline.sk/bus/spojenie/ .  The bus stop in Smolenice is about 1 km from the castle.

Smolenice can be reached also by train from Bratislava to Trnava and from Trnava to Smolenice. However, the railway station in Smolenice is about 3 km from the castle.
